Mediterranean House Plans

Mediterranean style is most prominent in the South. However, California, Texas and the Southwest have homes built in this style. It can also be called Spanish Style because many of the architectural features of a Mediterranean come from Spain. Mediterranean style house plans are known for their stucco exterior, wrought iron railings, balconies, courtyard entrances, red tile roofs, arches and columns. Because of the climate and regions they were originally built, these homes have open floor plans and high ceilings on the interior to keep the spaces airy and cool in hotter months. These homes are painted the natural colors of the landscape around them.
