Eating Bar

An eating bar, also referred to as a breakfast bar is a counterspace in the kitchen of the house plan where there is space for casual dining. Often this area is close to one of the living areas in the home such as the keeping room, hearth room or living area. The eating bar is usually in close proximity to the kitchen sink and workspace. This additional counter area in the kitchen becomes a favorite spot for quick meals, morning coffee or even school projects and often is raised in height acting as a divider between the kitchen and surrounding living spaces.
